The Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias at Yosemite near Yosemite's south entrance contains about 500 trees.

The grove is open approximately April to November.

Plan at least one hour minimum if you want to see the most popular specimens including the Grizzly Giant, the Three Graces and the Fallen Monarch among other well known trees.

The best time to visit the Mariposa is early, the area opens at 10 am and the crowds build as the day passes so I would suggest making this an early stop in your activities for that day. There is a small parking area that you can drive to just a couple miles east of the south entrace to Yosemite. The parking area fills quickly also so a good suggestion is to take the free Wawona-Mariposa shuttle.

At the parking area is a small gift shop. Film and batteries can also be purchased here.

From here, you can start you hike up to the Grizzly Giant or even further into the grove.

The Big Trees Tram Tour starts here and 2012 prices are as follows;
